For about 2 years I have told all of my developer friends that Windows Phone 7 is going to be awesome. Many laughed and mocked me for this and because I refused to purchase an iPhone. Well they're finally on board and are slowly retiring their 20 pages of useless apps and slowly moving over to the WP7 platform.
I just picked up my new phone about one month ago and I am still very impressed with how well it works. I elected to go with the Samsung Focus. A great looking phone, sleek, stylish and very light. I typically get two days out of a charge but keep in mind that I have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled 24/7 and I have 5 email accounts registered polling email every 30 minutes. I think that's pretty good.
The development tools are installing now. I love the little bit of XAML and Silverlight that I have played with so far but I'm really looking forward to getting into the guts of WP7 development and of the new features coming with the "Mango" update.
I don't have any specific projects in mind just yet (that's always the hard part) but if I start brainstorming and work through a mind map I should get something going. Come back later to see what I get going.
