Mötley Crüe in Toronto

I've always been a big Crüe fan and was lucky enough to see them for a short three song set at Live 8 in Barrie, ON where they put on a short but very electric show. So, when I had the opportunity to get tix for their Toronto show at the ACC I jumped at it but I feel terrible because I think I might have robbed them blind.

For two tickets to the show, thieving ticket vendor fees and of course the venue fee I paid a measly $160 for some great floor seats. This show was awesome. I can't describe how awesome this show was. From the pyrotechnics, to Tommy Lee passing the biggest bottle of Jägermeister you will ever see around the crowd, to Nikki Sixx's group prayer to keep the Crüe from killing each other so they can continue playing on for another year. Even the merchandise was great. No $50 concert shirts here, $50 bucks got you a sweet hoodie. I picked up an awesome Crüe hockey jersey for $75. The best part of the whole concert was just how they got the crowd so involved.

Their opening acts were Airbourne and The Joe Perry Project. When I first got through the ACC doors I couldn't quite make out the song that was playing but it sounded like AC/DC was up on stage I should have thought it was Airbourne. It's unfortunate that they didn't advertise them as an opening band because I would have loved to see their whole set but I didn't get to see much. I'll get to that later. The Joe Perry Project, apart from the guitar work, were unimpressive but hey I was there to see The Crüe.

The only downer of the night was the security. We hit the doors at the ACC at about 8:05 PM, I was into the ACC at about 8:15 not bad but I was practically stripped searched at the door. The ladies and the men were separated at the doors for individual pat downs, four doors for the men, one door for the ladies. So my lady and I had to split up, no biggie except from were I was standing I couldn't see the end of her line. She didn't get through the doors until 8:45 and was almost molested by the security. Needless to say we missed most of the Airbourne show. Every person was patted down, I'm all for security but hey we're not terrorists we're fans.

All in all it was a great night out to see an awesome band.
