It's that time of the year again, Microsoft TechDays 2009 just wrapped up in Toronto. The presenters were great, the topics were informative and the opportunity for networking was outstanding.
I learned a few things this year. A great introduction to REST services, ASP.Net MVC, PRISM and stuff that has irritated me in the past. I know a lot of acronyms. One of the best sessions was the Expression Blend 3 for Developers session.
In the past I've been to other Expression Blend sessions and they have always been geared towards designers. At the time it seemed pretty straight forward and I have never had too much trouble using other design tools but when it comes down to it I am a developer. This session got right down and dirty showing us developers how to add code, storyboards and interact with Visual Studio in an effective manner. Maybe now I can get some of those Silverlight ideas out of my head and into production.
In all it was a great event and for $300 worth the investment for any developer using Microsoft tools.
