Odds and Ends

Hi, this is a great place to find out more about me. On occasion you will be able to find out all kinds of interesting things (at least I hope they're interesting) about me and the things I do.

Stone Temple Pilots at the ACC

Stone Temple PilotsWell, I have to admit, I had a hard time getting motivated for this one taking place on a Sunday night after a great weekend of sun and fun with friends.

The night started off slow with Hot Hot Heat! Nothing spectacular from this group but they all looked pretty young so they have time to develop a band. At one point I think I might have nodded off. Did I mention I was standing.Stone Temple Pilots

Cage the Elephant started to get the crowd into it as their frontman Matthew Shultz spent 80 percent of their act laying/standing on the crowd. The guy was great, all over the stage and at one point dove off the stage onto the crowd. The poor roadies trying to make sure he didn't kill himself by getting tripped up in his mic cord made their money last night.

STP came out to an electrified crowd and an electrified stage. The stage had a huge lit screen behind the band for effect and video. The lower bowl seats where practically filled and 3/4 of the floor was filled. My guess is that there where about 10,000 in attendance at least. After their initial appearance the crowd settled a fair bit until half way through their set when they played Plush getting the crowd into it with a sing along. I think they could have done a little more to keep the momentum going but it fizzled and the audience slipped back into their haze. Overall I enjoyed it as I have always been a fan at least of their older stuff.
